Η Μαρίνα Καναβάκη σπούδασε εικαστικά και μουσική. Εχει εργασθεί ως γραφίστας και αργότερα art director. Σήμερα, είναι creative art director στο δημιουργικό κέντρο ANMAR. Γραφιστικά της έργα έχουν παρουσιασθεί στη Smith's Gallery του Λονδίνου και έχει κάνει εκθέσεις ζωγραφικής [ατομική και ομαδικές] στη Γκαλερί Εποχές. Συμμετέχει σε διάφορα ηλεκτρονικά μουσικά σχήματα στην Αγγλία και με την επιστροφή της στην Ελλάδα κυκλοφορεί την πρώτη της δισκογραφική δουλειά [“Ποτέ & Τίποτα” σε ποίηση Ηλία Πετρόπουλου, Virgin/EMI, η οποία επανεκδίδεται με νέα ενορχήστρωση από τον Oannes, εκδόσεις ΝΕΦΕΛΗ]. Με τον Oannes δημιουργεί το ντουέτο MK-O το οποίο έχει ήδη εκδόσει 3 άλμπουμ: το OVATION [2006-Hitch Hyke / ψηφίστηκε στα καλύτερα 20 album της δεκαετίας από το AVOPOLIS], το διπλό UNREEL [2008-Hitch Hyke] και το BLUES FOR THE WHITE NIGGER [2011-Puzzlmusik]. Την άνοιξη του 2009 παρουσιάζει για πρώτη φορά τις εικαστικές/γλυπτικές δημιουργίες της σε κερί με την ονομασία MARWAX. Τον Δεκέμβρη του 2012, μετονομάζεται MARWORKS και περιλαμβάνει μεγαλύτερη γκάμα καλλιτεχνικών αντικειμένων.

Marina Artemis Kanavaki [full name] was born in Athens, Greece. Painter and musician at heart [from a very early age]. Studied art - design and music in London [UK] and Athens [Greece]. Currently works at her own design studio [ANMAR creative design center], in Athens, and constantly explores new aspects of design.
In 2000, Virgin /EMI releases her first album, titled POTE & TIIPOTA (Jamais et Rien), based on poems by Elias Petropoulos, The album was composed, arranged, performed and produced by her. In 2004 the album was rearranged by Oannes and released by NEFELI (Elias Petropoulos's book editor). That led to the collaboration of the two musicians creating the duet MK-O [Marina Kanavaki & Oannes - duet in music and life]. Since then they’ve released 3 albums: OVATION in 2006, the 2CD album UNREEL in 2008 and BLUES FOR THE WHITE NIGGER in 2011.
Her design project "MARWAX" applying her design concepts on wax, evolved to "MARWORKS" with a larger variety of artistic items.
Her work [painting / design] has appeared in Smith's Gallery Covent Garden in London, Epohes Gallery & Benaki Museum in Athens and the Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art in Thessaloniki.
